Randy Gunn's ministry was foreshadowed at the age of 5 when he sang his first song in church: "Christian Cowboy." Today, Randy's life and ministry has become a living example of the song, where Randy himself is a "Singin', Preachin', World Champion Cowboy." The ministry of Randy and Heidi Gunn, along with all of GunnPoint Ministries, which features Randy speaking at major World and National Rodeo events, has earned the couple the title of "Official Pastors" of the Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association (CMSA) and it is the CMSA family that gave Randy the title; "The Pistol Packin' Preacher."
Their music, message, and lifestyle has impacted the hearts and lives of multiple thousands around the world, and they have been honored as the CGC "Ministry of the Year."
Randy has been riding, learning, and training horses since he was 11 years old. In the last 8 years he has competed in the sport of Cowboy Mounted Shooting (the fastest growing Equine sport in the world), and has won 1 World Championship and 4 National Championships, and today holds a National Championship Title in all 3 Mounted Shooting Organizations. Randy uses horse-training principles and his outdoor wilderness experiences to relate the Gospel of Christ to cowboys and cowgirls in a way they can relate to. He even does this in the GunnPoint Newsletter, through his written messages, and those messages have been featured in numerous national publications.
Randy's vocal and musical talents have earned him the "Inspirational Country Music Male Vocalist of the Year," and along with Heidi, and their band GunnPoint, they have been awarded Duo of the Year and Band of the Year, two consecutive years in a row. Randy has performed at the famous Ryman Auditorium (the original "Grand Ole' Opry) for the World Wide Live Telecast of the ICMA Awards and shared the stage with such Country Music Icons as Wynona Judd, Diamond Rio, Oak Ridge Boys, and many more.
Randy's music has had world wide acceptance. His first release from his CD "Trusting", went to the #1 spot on both Country and Christian Charts in 5 countries. Every song he has released to radio has been in the top 10 on Inspirational Country Music Charts and 1 made the top ten on a main stream Country Chart.
Randy and Heidi's ministry and music has also been recognized by Hollywood Producers, who just recently made a major motion movie about them entitled, "Set Apart" and that DVD is now one of the Best Selling Christian DVD's on the market.
Through all of his opportunities, Randy considers the greatest compliment to be that his recognition hasn't changed who he is. Randy's true desire is for others to see Jesus through him.
